Porcelain Veneers

For people with chipped, discolored or crooked teeth, smiling can be a painful experience, emotionally and physically. Thankfully, there are a number of solutions to help you smile brightly! Porcelain veneers are one solution.

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain shaped to fit over the front side of your teeth. Veneers are strong, look natural and are made to match the shape and color of your own teeth. Generally, veneers will last for many years, and can last a long time with proper care. Here’s how they are applied:

  1. Schlueter will remove a small bit of enamel from each affected tooth.
  2. Your dentist will take an impression of the inside of your mouth, form a mold, and send it to a dental laboratory where your veneers are custom made by a dental technician.
  3. The veneers will be bonded to your teeth with special cement.

Veneers can be excellent alternative to crowns and are a more conservative method to changing tooth color, size or shape. They can be used to mask stains and other discolorations and patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn may consider veneers.
